Every year, for about 2 months (July->Sept), centered around the Royal Albert Hall in London is a series of concerts, which features some of the great talents in classical music from around the world. The series provides a chance to hear music that is
not usually heard in other venues, and features many exciting performers. There is a buzz in London during this time, with a type of exhilaration that only this type of sustained festival of high quality can generate.
Most of us probably will not be able to travel to London to participate, but luckily there is a way to consume some of this online (for free).
The concerts can be accessed (for a few weeks) from the BBC
here or
here
Articles about performances can be read

Discussions (‘Proms Plus”) that occur around the performances can be accessed

A festival guide can be purchased

Not quite the same as being there, but surprisingly immersive with a good set of headphones, and after gazing at some of the articles online.
The
iPlayer App will allow you to hear BBC content on smartphones and other devices.
